Dr. Richard Benninger

Dr. Richard Benninger was born and raised in Brunswick, Ohio. He is a graduate of St. Ignatius High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Washington University and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry. After completing dental school, he was accepted into the University of Kentucky Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program, where he received extensive training in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Continually adding to his training, Dr. Benninger is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and the American Board of Oral Implantology, all requiring additional study and examination. Dr. Benninger regularly attends continuing education classes around the country to enhance his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He frequently lectures and sponsors local continuing education courses on a number of topics in his specialty.

Dr. Benninger is a member of numerous local, national, and international organizations. He is a former president and officer of the Medina Dental Society. Other memberships include the Medina County Medical Society, Ohio Dental Association, American Dental Association, Great Lakes Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Society of Anesthesiologists, Ohio Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Dr. Benninger most recently received the distinguished honor of being inducted as a fellow in the American College of Dentists. Dr. Benninger has been in private practice since 1987 and holds active staff privileges at Medina Hospital. He also volunteers his expertise and services at the Medina County Dental Clinic on a regular basis.  

Dr. Benninger and his wife, Meg, have six children and are very active in the community. Dr. Benninger enjoys hunting, fishing, skiiing, ballroom dancing, and coaching little league football. He also supports and sponsors local schools' sporting events.
